For those of you keen to understand more about winemaking and gain some insight direct from the winemaker, we would like to invite you to meet Josh Donaghay-Spire and winemakers from other Kent wine producers at an exclusive ‘Evolving English Wines’ tasting at Chapel Down on Thursday, 28th April.
As one of the founding members of the ‘Wine Garden of England’, we’ve invited six of Kent’s leading winemakers to join Josh in our Wine Sanctuary for an exclusive wine tasting (Balfour Winery, Biddenden Vineyards, Gusbourne, Simpsons, Squerryes and Westwell). Each winemaker will showcase one of their favourite wines and compare it with another wine from earlier in the winemaking process, this could be a base wine tasted alongside the finished sparkling wine or two still wines that go to make up a final blend. So if you have ever wondered what sparkling wine tastes like before it goes through secondary fermentation or what the winemaker is looking for when tasting component wines, the exclusive tasting event offers a glimpse in to the world of winemaking.
The ’Evolving English Wines’ tasting event takes place at the Chapel Down Winery on Thursday, 28th April from 2.30pm to 8.00pm. Tickets are £45.00 per person to include a tutored tasting of 2 wines from each of the 7 winemakers, plus a glass of Chapel Down sparkling wine on arrival and small plate of cheese and charcuterie.
