We’re incredibly excited to announce that harvest has begun at the Chapel Down vineyards.
This is the most special time of the year at the winery. It’s a time of irresistible forward momentum, when you can almost taste the future promise of the grapes in your glass. It’s also a time of collaboration, as large teams come together across our vineyards.
Our Head Winemaker, Josh Donaghay-Spire, commented:
“We have wonderfully healthy looking vines and beautiful grapes almost ready to be picked. The settled and dry weather we’ve enjoyed since springtime is perfect for growing vines and the cool maritime climate we have in Kent is now allowing the grapes to ripen with near perfect levels of sugar and acidity. The flavours are intense yet delicate and its these flavours which combine with our natural acidity to make the crisp and fresh wines we are known for.”
From grape pickers to cellar hands who have travelled from around the world to be a part of harvest and our incredible winemaking team at Chapel Down, here’s to the fruits of your passion and skill. We can’t wait for you to taste the 2025 English wine harvest.
