Our Orange Bacchus is a single estate Bacchus sourced from grapes grown in Hawkhurst, Kent and then aged in oak barrels. Orange wine is made in contact with the grape skins in order to extract flavour and texture in a similar way to how red wine is made.

Originally from the German region of Pfalz, Bacchus was created in the 30s as a cross between Silvaner x Riesling and Muller-Thurgaubut and became available as a commercial variety in the 1970s. Under the UK climate, Bacchus has become a world class wine in its own right, developing distinct floral, citrus and grassy aromas that have led to frequent comparison with the highest quality Sauvignon Blancs.
This Orange Bacchus was inspired by the natural wine movement and the increased demand for skin contact wines. To produce the iconic colour, the fruit was hand picked before being destemmed, crushed and left to ferment with indigenous yeast in contact with its skins. The cap was then punched down twice a day for four weeks before pressing and subsequent maturation in old French oak barrels for 9 months.
