Product Information:

An exceptional vintage sparkling wine, Grand Reserve 2020 is a blend of the three great sparkling wine grapes, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The wine is made from the best fraction of juice and is aged for at least three years in bottle before release. Complex aromas of baked apple, buttery pastry and red berries are complimented by a rich palate and generous finish.

Vineyard

To ensure consistent top quality fruit for this wine, we source from a collection of vineyards in Kent, Sussex and Essex. Grapes are grown predominantly on single and double guyot pruning systems, on varied soils including, chalk, clay and loam soils to best benefit the grape varietals grown.
Winemaking

The tradition sparkling method used by producers across the globe, starts with wine grapes (both white and red) fermented separately before being mixed together into a special cuvee blend. A small amount of yeast, sugar and wine is added to start the secondary fermentation. This fermentation traps carbon dioxide in the bottle. Bottles are then slowly rotated over time to settle the dead yeast in the neck of the bottle. Finally the dead yeast particles are removed, with the wine mixture topped up with the 'dosage'.

English Sparkling wine is produced in England, made using the traditional method - the same process used for champagne. It's typically crafted from classic grapes such as chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier, grown in England's cool climate and chalky soils which closely resemble those of northern France.
English Sparkling Wine and Champagne share many similarities - both are made using the traditional method, often from the same grape varieties. The key difference lies in their origin. Champagne must come from the Champagne region of France, while English Sparkling Wine is produced in vineyards across England.
Sparkling wines are best kept upright in a cool, dark environment with a stable temperature to preserve their effervescence and delicate flavours.
Non-vintage sparkling wines are best enjoyed within 2–3 years, while vintage bottles like our Kit’s Coty range can age beautifully for 5+ years.
